What Are Interview Websites?
Interview websites are sites that publish interviews.
The interviews can feature an individual or a business or both.
Some are free, some are paid.
Some rank well in search engines, some don’t.
Almost all of them are great for your online reputation because YOU get to submit the content to be published.
That means you have control over the messaging.
Plus, the majority of sites allow you to link back to your website and social media, so it gives those digital assets a nice kick to help them rank better.
List Of Interview Websites
I’ve vetted each of the interview websites below.
Explanation of headings:
Ahrefs DA/Moz DA – DA means “domain authority” and it’s a measure of the strength of a website on a scale of 1 to 100 with 100 being the strongest.
In theory, the higher a website’s domain authority, the better it will rank on Google.
In practice, that’s not always true.
- Ahrefs domain authority checker is the barometer of website strength used by most interview website publishers.
- Moz’s domain authority checker is more conservative than Ahrefs; it’s scores are usually lower.
Moz Spam% – This is an estimate of the amount of spam on the website.
The higher the spam percentage, the more likely the site contains spam, according to Moz.
My Rating – I rated each website based on the scale below, with 1 being the best, 4 being the worst, and 5 means I’m awaiting information from the publisher.
- 1 = free and likely to publish
- 2 = free and might publish
- 3 = paid under $100
- 4 = paid over $100
- 5 = waiting to hear
Personally, I’m not in the habit of paying for an online interview and I don’t think you should be either, unless you have the budget.
Like I mentioned above, paying for an interview on a site with higher domain authority is not a guarantee that it will rank higher on Google.
That’s why I recommend you start with the free sites and see how things look.
Here’s the list.
If you come across an interview site that’s not on this list, please let me know so I can check it out.

My Top 3 Interview Websites
#1 – IdeaMensch
IdeaMensch is the G.O.A.T. of interview sites.
Established in 2008, it began with an idea from owner (and my friend) Mario Schulzke.
He loved entrepreneurs and was curious about how they bring ideas to life.
The site has over 9,000 interviews, a high domain authority and ranks well on search engines.
Publishing is free if your story is accepted.

#2 – Inspirery
Here comes the shameless self-promotion part of this blog post.
I own Inspirery.
And truth be told, I launched the site in 2013 AFTER discovering IdeaMensch.
I liked what Mario was doing and since I’m also fascinated with what people are doing and how they make money, I decided to start my own interview publishing site.
As of 2026, we’ve published over 1,300 interviews and publishing is free if you submit on your own behalf.

#3 – Authority Magazine
Instead of buying and developing their own domain, Authority Magazine chose to feature it’s interviews on Medium.
And over 50,000 people have done so.
The advantage of using Medium.com as their platform is that it’s already a super-strong domain, being that it’s a free web 2.0 site where anyone can claim a page and start writing.
Like IdeaMensch and INSPIRERY, Authority Magazine will publish your interview for free, as long as you are accepted.
And building on the Medium foundation, most interviews here rank really well.

Best Practices For Getting Your Interview To Rank On Google
Based on my online reputation management experience, Google won’t rank multiple interviews on page one, unless you follow these guidelines.
And while it’s not a guarantee, if you follow these tips, you’ll be giving yourself the best chances that your interview will outrank any negative links about yourself.
Length
Make it long!
Even in 2026, I still see that longer content ranks higher than shorter content—especially on interview sites.
So, don’t give one-word or one-sentence answers.
Take your time, be thoughtful, and answer each question thoroughly, even if it takes multiple paragraphs.
You’ll wind up with a better-looking, more useful interview that’ll rank better.
Diversity
If you’re doing more than one interview—and you should—make each one about a different part of your life.
If every single interview contains the same basic information, Google will not rank them all.
It will pick the one it feels is best, and ignore the others.
When I do my interviews, I try to focus on a different part of my career and I’ll even go off on tangents and talk about my mid-life crisis or the behind the scenes story of how I got started in minor league baseball.
Even though form questions are similar on most sites, tailor your answers to highlight a different theme or aspect of your personal or professional life.
To help with this, on INSPIRERY, I offer you the opportunity to submit either a professional interview OR a personal one.
I’m way into self-help and the personal interviews are fun to read.
Images
For the love of God, submit a large, high-resolution image of yourself smiling.
This makes you look good and saves the publisher the time of doctoring the image to make it look good.
And I recommend submitting a different photo to each of the sites you submit to.
That way, Google has more images of you to pull into it’s search results, which can help suppress any negative images you might have.
Consistency of Links
Practically every single interview website allows you to include your website and social media links.
You can vary the website (if you have multiple), but I’d keep your social media links the same on every one.
That consistency helps show Google that when someone searches for you, they know which LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook links to show.
Those three social media sites already rank well on their own, so every little boost you give them will push them up that much higher.
And that is what helps them leap over negative stuff you want to bury.
Optimization
You probably won’t have any control over how your name appears in the interview title and/or URL, but you can always ask.
Getting your name first in the title is best and having your name somewhere in the slug is better than not at all.
If a site allows you to submit an opening bio, write it in 3rd person, so you get your name into the content.
Each of these little tweaks give your interview a better chance of ranking when someone Google’s your name.
Summary
Interview websites are a fun and effective way to improve your online reputation.
All of the sites on the list I’ve rated as a 1 or 2 are worth your time because they’re free.
Make each of your interviews unique and you’ll build yourself a little PR empire that will be a vital part of how you appear on the internet.
If you run into problems, we have relationships with many of the publishers on the list.
